In 2013, Russian Olympic organizers denied a request to host a Pride House at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Pride House International, a coalition of LGBT sport and human rights organizations, is coordinating actions carried out throughout the world during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games to support equality and inclusion in sport and society, to condemn discriminatory laws and practices, and to promote the values of sport for all.
The Glow Centre is hosting a 24- hour event during the Opening Ceremony in the SLC. We will be the only place on campus that will be officially live-streaming the Opening Ceremony. We will be hosting a variety of mini-games, athletic speakers, movies and there will be FREE BREAKFAST AND MERCHANDISE

There will be opportunities to participate in campaigns such as letter writing and Same-Sex Hand-Holding Initiative.
This event is open to all individuals who identify as queer, trans* or a supportive ally.

THURSDAY 10PM
PRIDE HOUSE GOES UP: Pride House will be set up and decorated at this time. Come by and take part in the huge arts and crafts project. We will be painting, blowing up & creating balloon displays, and decorating the Great Hall.
FRIDAY 12AM – 6AM
MOVIES AND SLUMBER PARTY: Glow will be playing three queer/trans* themed movies during this period. Join us for a huge slumber party in the SLC during this time. You can stay up for the movie and snacks, hang out or catch up on sleep.

FRIDAY 6AM
YOGA: Professional yoga instructor will be hosting a yoga class at the Pride House at 6am. This is open to all queer/ trans* students and supportive allies. The Pride House will uphold Glow's policies of Confidentiality, Inclusion and Safe Space.
FRIDAY 7AM
GROOVE: Join us for another Glow Groove class at 7am in the Pride House. This is open to all queer/ trans* students and supportive allies. Groove class will be hosted by Reba Campbell!
FRIDAY 8AM
FREE PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Glow's Pride House will be providing students with a free pancake breakfast. Coffee, tea and juice is also included. Breakfast is providing by UW Catering.
**Note: students need to acquire a ticket from an information booth inside the Pride House to receive breakfast.
FRIDAY 10AM & 4PM & 9PM
ATHLETE INTERVIEWS & TSN VIDEOS: The athlete interview will be a look at a local figure skater, Dylan Moscovitch, whom will be attending this winter's Sochi 2014 Olympics. Moscovitch and his partner, Kirsten Moore-Towers, will be one of the few in their sport to be representing Canada at the competition. In this special TSN report, Ward talks to other athletes, both gay and straight, about that culture, the need for change and how to make it happen.

OLYMPIC OPENING CEREMONY: The Pride House will be the only official place on campus live-streaming the 2014 Winter Olympic Opening Ceremony taking place in Sochi, Russia.
FRIDAY 12PM – 3PM
SHAKE OFF THE WINTER BLUES W/ CRT: Campus Response Team will be holding an information booth regarding the services they provide on campus. CRT will be raising awareness about how to stay healthy and active during the winter months. They will provide information on activities that students can get involved in on campus and in the Waterloo community.
FRIDAY 5PM – 7PM
DDR: University of Waterloo Dance Dance Revolution Club will be hosting an event where individuals can come together and socialize while playing a healthy game of Dance Dance Revolution. They will be setting up ITG.
FRIDAY 6PM – 7PM
ZUMBA: Join us for a super fun Zumba class. Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba's choreography incorporates hip-hop, samba, salsa, mambo and martial arts. This is open to all queer/ trans* students and supportive allies.
FRIDAY 7PM
KW SALSA CLUB: The KW Salsa Club will be presenting a special performance at the Pride House. This is a joint group between the Waterloo and Laurier Salsa Clubs dedicated to spread the joy that Casino Rueda (Cuban Salsa) brings to all of us!
SPECIAL PERFORMANCE: UW Student Mahyar will be gracing the Pride House with an awesome vocal presentation. He will be covering a variety of songs from such artists as Lana Del Rey and Lada Gaga.
